Writing a Book Report - Next Steps

Did you read the book? If not, retreat! We're not big on book report templates at Bookhooks.com (we wouldn't want to eat the same food every day, either.) However, here's a Book Report Recipe general enough to allow you to cover all of the essential information! If you're not into recipes, then feel free to 'Get a Question' from the report writing screens and jump into a question that interests you and that relates to your book.

Book Report Recipe (Simplified)

1 cup of plot

  • Tell briefly what the story is about, but don't give away the ending.

2 teaspoons of characters

  • Who are the main characters? Describe them briefly.

2 heaping tablespoons of excitement

  • Select a short passage from the book that describes something exciting that happened.
  • Try to find a passage that has the main character in it.
  • Mix thoroughly and bake.

When cool, frost with this special icing:

1/2 cup of opinion

  • What did you like about the book? What didn't you like?

1 dash of recommended reading

  • Whom do you think would enjoy this book? Why?

Sprinkle on the following bibliogrpaphic information:

  • title of book
  • name of author
  • name of publisher
  • number of pages
  • literary genre

Serve with a side order of illustration, drawing, photograph, or picture of the Reporter!
